Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday declared that Carnatic singer T.M Krishna would play in the Capital on November 17 at 6. 30 pm.
The place for the concert are the Garden of Five Senses at Saket, which will be conducted by Delhi Tourism, Mr. Sisodia said.
Earlier, Mr. Krishna has been scheduled to play in Nehru Park as a part of a concert organised together by Airports Authority of India and Spicmacay. The AAI pulled out of the event allegedly after getting trolled for encouraging Mr. Krishna to sing.
“AAI developed cold feet and feared that there will be protests at Nehru Park in Delhi because Krishna was to do and bailed out of the event though the official reason given is the exigencies of AAI’s workload,” that a Spicmacay official told The Hindu on Thursday.
After case scheduled for November 17-18 was put off, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government contacted Mr. Krishna offering to sponsor his concert.
The supplies came after Mr. Krishna was quoted as stating,”Give me a stage anywhere in Delhi on November 17, I’ll come and sing. We just can’t let ourselves be cowed down by this type of threats.”
