Neighbours were suspicious in the act of hastening to bury the body, and the murder plot unravelled in the style of a crime thriller. The death of Malamalkavu Pulikkal Siddique had proved to be murder when the local police investigated.
The family informed neighbours and a few relatives about the death of Siddique that had happened the previous night. However, his family’s haste to bury the body, on the other hand, raised suspicions.
After being informed by neighbours, Trithala police had invented a quick enquiry and identified that it was murder, and Siddique’s wife Fathima was taken into police custody.
On Thursday evening, police took Fathima, wearing a PPT kit, to the murder spot for interrogation and collect evidence. She described to police how the crime had happened.
Siddique was doing seafood trading at Malalkavu, and he was very kind to everyone. After an accident took his 13-year old son’s life away, he turned into a mentally challenging stage.
Police did not fully believe the accused’s statement, and they were also looking into whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
According to Fathima, the motive for the murder was it was a hard time living with a mentally challenged person.
