On a day when the Sabarimala temple was opened to devotees after being shut for several weeks, a political row broke out between the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Left leaders after the Kerala BJP chief was on a speech this was an opportunity for his party to help the devotees.
In a speech video, Kerala BJP president PS Sreedharan Pillai said that Sabarimala priests had consulted him regards a legal opinion about shutting down the Ayyappa temple if any women activities enter the shrine.
As soon as the video of Pillai speaking at a Yuva Morcha meet, is out most of the left media’s claims Sreedharan Pillai has a connection with priests.
As usual, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan hit out at the saffron party, saying BJP leaders in the state connived to create trouble in Sabarimala.
So far, 3,731 people have been arrested and 545 cases registered in connection with last month’s “namajapayathra” over the states against entering women activities to the Sabarimala shrine.
The BJP and various Hindu outfits are with the devotees to prevent the Left Front government police of entering women activities to the shrine. The devotees were asking the government for review petition and Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan leading left government denied it and use his police to enter women activities to the shrine.
