The number of people infected by the Nippa virus in Kozhikode has increased, with 251 now total. There are 8 people presenting symptoms and 32 who are considered hazardous. The Institute of Virology, Pune, has received samples of sap from five new people infected with a new type of virus.
These patients show symptoms similar to those with the Nipah virus. The previous list featured 188 people, with 63 new ones being symptomized. Twenty people have been admitted to the hospital for suspected influenza, and are all on the contact list of a boy who died.
They’ve also found 32 unwell persons during this process and transferred them to Kozhikode Medical College. There have been a significant number of email contacts at the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, who have gone viral. These numbers might continue to grow.
Due to the death of a 12-year-old boy in Kozhikode, the Central Health secretary has issued a statement urging prevention and awareness efforts. They recommend closely monitoring other districts such as Kannur, Wayanad, and Malappuram. The central health ministry advised storing enough antibody drugs and substantive health care equipment to be prepared for challenging situations.
